Sade/ Rain

Site-specific sound installation, 2019. Demo presentation.

Sound and lighting design department, Theatre Academy, Helsinki

The piece reveals the theatre machinery and refers to the rain box which was used in theatres back in time as a sound effect for the rain. The metallic tube is filled with dry peas. The tube goes down from the 6th floor to the 1st floor in a certain sequence and then rises back to the 6th floor. This sequence repeats again and again. This piece is also a comment on the architecture of the space. In addition, the metallic tube is placed in the staircase behind the elevator  — the space which is not in use, bringing up the existence of so call no-spaces.
